Love is not essential to me. I have lived my entire adult life without love other than the one of my family.
The butcher will not sell you his meat because of love but because he wants to make a profit on you. The love of a person is not what keeps the world going round but the profit that those people can make from others. Money and sex rule the world and not love.
You can live a perfectly happy life without love. On the other hand, living a life without money is substantially harder. Not impossible but harder.
If I had to chose, then I will chose money but only as much as needed. I don't have the need to accumulate millions that I will never use and make a gift to the state once I die.
I am not materialistic. I have no car, I have no credit card, I don't take expensive holidays but I need a minimum of money.
