I had a leg surgery and was unable to walk for over 3 months. It’s been 6.5 months since I learned walking again. That’s the surgery I mean for the ones who don’t know.

Congratulations on your recovery, you seem really happy about it and it has reminded me that maybe I should be thankful my limbs still currently work.

As for your walking style, it seems confident, not extremely exaggerated. You have poise and move fluidly. With practice, you could probably do a catwalk to model clothing.

Consider your operation a success, I hope you stay healthy and happy. And I'm assuming it doesn't cause you any pain. Or at least I hope it doesn't.

As for posting the video somewhere, sure. It's benign enough. It's 'safe' for most social media, maybe with a short accompanying post of why you're happy to be walking. Without context, someone might be a little confused on the message; 'Just some woman walking in a cityscape,' they may think. So be mindful of that. And, have a nice day.

Well, I feel like the video is slowed down just a little bit. Maybe that's just my imagination.

But, if I may ask... how would being a fast walker be unattractive? Or did you mean something else.

I'll answer both just in case.

How fast you walk doesn't really make a difference. Unless you're in front of me in a grocery store or hallway and I'm needing to rush past you for some reason. Slow walkers are only annoying when I'm in a hurry. Fast walkers don't upset me in any way, unless they bump into me in their haste. But, I'd probably just apologize and move out of the way afterwards and get over it after three minutes.

If you're asking if 'the way you walk' is unattractive, then I will also say no. My way of walking in particular is unattractive, yours seems at least practiced and dignified to some degree. But also, I hope you're not constantly that level of self-aware of what strangers think of you. It's nice to feel admired, but I would be upset if you're asking these questions because someone else made you feel insecure about it in some way, ya know?

Either way. You're good. Speaking of walking, I need to hop on the treadmill today while I have free time, so I appreciate the indirect reminder. ✨

Why is it unusual for a woman to have long strides? I was a runner in the past and had quite long strides… I am a fast walker generally

I used to be very competitive and fiery young woman, in the past. I guess my walking style has kept some of my character, even though I am no longer that ambitious and competitive as I was.

@lafemmefatale_1 That wasn't meant as a criticism, just an interesting observation. Most women have shorter legs and wear heels, which reduces their stride. Plus, in my experience, most women don't walk fast, I have to slow down my usual stride when I walk with my wife, for example. You look fine.

Depends on a woman, I guess… I have always walked with longer strides and fast. Learned to slow down a bit as I got my leg broken. But I have longer legs than a torso and that’s a very female thing. I walk faster than my girlfriends but I walk slower than the men I date, who are all much taller than me.

I gotta say if you hadn't said that you had just gotten out of surgery I wouldn't be able to tell from your walk alone. In fact you have a certain confidence in your walking style. So you're good. As for posting it on Facebook, it looks safe enough so to speak. I don't think anyone would find it inappropriate.
