I'd say a guy is more attractive who is understated and then I gradually learn, Oh, wow. He's well-off.

The cars are generally driven by old guys, and the trucks are generally driven by woman chasers and they live hard. Both also scream "I spend lots of money on liabilities! Yay for me!" So for me, neither.

I'm an old guy.
I've driven a truck ever since I was 18 years old, just before buying my first boat.
Not a "huge truck", but a truck.

I've used them all of my adult life to haul tools and cargo as well as pulling trailers.
They're also my daily drivers, on the rare occasions that I venture out these days.
Why have more than one vehicle?

Now that I'm too old and ill to engage in my work and the boating and fishing activities of my younger, healthier years, I still plan on keeping my 25-year-old truck, that looks like it just rolled off of the showroom floor, for the rest of my life.
Having a garage does wonders for the life of a vehicle.

A truck, like a car, is a machine that's built to serve a purpose.
In my case, in addition to its being a tool necessary for my worldly activities, I also happen to like how my truck rides and looks.

It's ownership by me is not meant to impress anyone, although it does generate many compliments on its appearance by many people.

As stated above, vehicles are machines built to serve a purpose.
Sometimes that purpose is to try to impress others.
I believe that is the case much less often than some people may think.

@nolabels I think the context of the question was "huge" trucks with aftermarket parts and lift kits, which is why I responded the way I did. I know the value of pickup trucks for practical reasons because I own one myself and use it for various projects on a regular basis. I would never view a guy negatively for simply owning a truck. I do think that there is a difference between a guy who takes excellent care of his truck and has a practical use for it, and a guy who spends tens of thousands of dollars on ego rigs. Hopefully that helps clarify! :D

Yes, your clarification is quite satisfactory to me.

I did understand the context of the question, but still, I felt compelled to state my opinion regarding trucks.
There seems to me to be a growing segment of the population that is "anti-truck".
I occasionally post similar statements regarding trucks as a means of educating those who seem to have the opinion that trucks are useless, dangerous vehicles that should be done away with altogether.
Not that I think that you share that opinion, of course.
I put my opinion out there not only for you to see, but hopefully for others to see as well.
I looked for a way to post my opinion as a direct answer to the question, but as I am not a "lady", I was effectively prevented from doing so.
Guys were not blocked from responding to this question, but I felt that I should hold my tongue in direct response to the question.
Your post afforded me the opportunity to voice my opinion.

There are many owners of trucks who never use them as they are designed to be used, but that is none of my business.

Everyone who I personally know who owns a truck uses it as a truck.

Some truck owners use them as trucks seldom enough that renting a truck when one is needed may be a more economical approach to their vehicle ownership, but who am I to tell anyone what they should own and drive.

The truck pictured in the question does not, to me, illustrate the type of truck that displays the type of truck of which you speak.
It's a plain-Jane Ford dually, needed by those who haul heavy loads, as I'm sure you are aware.

I agree that the heavily after-market embellished trucks are quite odd, especially the ones that have been altered with ridiculously sized wheels and lift kits that render said trucks as being fairly useless in terms of their being "trucks".
I laugh when I see many of them struggling to maintain a straight course when traveling down the road.
I guess that those truck owners must think that they know more about the truck's engineering than the designers do.

I am and always have been a Chevy guy, but there's something about a vintage Dodge Power Wagon that is quite appealing to my senses.

There are other vintage Dodge/Plymouth/Chrysler products that catch my fancy as well.
Even a modern model or two are pretty nice.

I've even begun to appreciate some vintage Ford products in recent years.
The Ford Galaxies of the early to mid-60s were pretty cool.

And then of course, there's the Mustang.
Iconic.

Even though I'm a Chevy guy, GM's answer to the Mustang with the Camaro and Firebird were never to my liking, until the reintroduction of the modern Camaro.
Those are nice, in my opinion.
