Familiar culture is a comfort, on the other hand sometimes we seek out a particular culture in a partner we find attractive, or just a different one to our own, or one different but similar. Or maybe to some it’s a secondary and not important.

Not every guy or girl is going to be a great representation or necessarily what you’re looking for, so while it can be important, best not to generalise too much unless you’re very culturally traditional perhaps. Focus on what you are looking for in a guy or girl, what’s really important, and what’s not really, remembering no one is perfect so what areas can you ease up in to find the person that meets what truly matters for you. You never know where the guy or girl is in the world, keep your options open. Try to avoid anything divisive to narrow your selection pool, height, opinions, etc.

Also, it’s never too early to be thinking about what you bring to a relationship, what you might be able to improve about yourself, perhaps you’ve had an unlucky pool around you but perhaps you could improve some aspects of yourself too. Being a girl after a guy, you’re fortunate that if you ask them, they’ll likely tell you and be honest (if blunt and inconsiderate with the wording), my advice here is not to focus too hard on how they say it (some are jerks and have a way yet to grow up, others just born without a silver spoon) but it’s honest feedback. They maybe completely wrong, but on the other hand, might be useful for the future. I personally would advise not to let your frustrations possibly sabotage any potential opportunities, express yourself privately to feel better but try not to let it show publicly while you’re looking. Perhaps it’s not yet the right time or the right place.

That depends on what you want. If you want a traditional Hindu marriage, then yes, you should probably avoid Western men. However, I am a Western man and I crushed on quite a few Indian women. I was never free to date them, but if I had been I would have asked.
