I can't unsee that I am the shortest in most groups, even though I always considered myself average

That's a very average height, definitely not short. Tall is typically 5'10" or taller, but someone around 5'0" might consider 5'7" as tall. It's all relative.

I went with average. The average height for a man living in the US is 5'9" but the world average for a man is 5'7.5". I'm personally 5'8" I don't consider myself short by any means.

Irrelevant. Some of the shortest guys I know are some of the biggest guys I know. And I'm 6'5".

I am 5’8 by the way. By American statistics I am above average height for women but I still wouldn’t use the words “very tall” to describe myself.

If a 5’7 guy has a face and personality I like I would consider dating him.
I don’t care if a guy is 6 feet tall. If he has a face I don’t find attractive I don’t want to date him.
I care about personality but when it comes to judging physical attractiveness (in both men and women) I look at the face more than height.
