Me and my girlfriend have been dating for 10 months now. We’ve been close and recently saw each other for Christmas (we live 2 hours away). Recently, I made her upset by making a sarcastic comment on a meme I showed her. She knows my humor but sometimes she gets upset at it. It was nothing offensive or morally wrong. She took what I said too seriously and hung up on me on the phone while I was trying to explain that I didn’t mean what I said at all. I’m the type of person that needs to communicate whenever there’s an issue and she’s the opposite. She likes having her space for a while at first but it’s usually for less than 24 hours and I respect that. She also overthinks a lot about everything. I’m more upset that she didn’t communicate with me on when she wants to talk to me again or directly said that she doesn’t want to talk to me right now. She still has me on social media and can see my location so maybe I’m making it too much of a big deal in my head (?). I know we love each other still and care I’m just upset that it had to come to this.

Well and something like this happens the best thing is to do is turn off all the TVs all the radio station and just kick back and relax and think meditate and understand her point of view understand your point of view there is no wrong or right it's just a misunderstanding and you just have to let it go since you know who she is you have to kind of think before you speak and at the same time she knows who you are so she has to be aware and just kind of let it roll too I wouldn't let it bother you too much she'll come back around when she's ready to and then it's something you guys have to talk about and figure it out you have to respect each other's opinion or feelings about whatever is said remember it's not that big of a deal you have to but you have to hear the other person you have to listen
Before I even read the whole question the moment I read the title to it I said to myself well you need to keep your big mouth shut because you are causing problems.
And don't take that personally or anything that's just the first thought that I had before I even read everything so and I'm not telling you to do that either but anyway good luck Happy New Year tell her you love her and smile22 Reply
Asker1 yThank you I agree with you! This has been the most helpful comment for me yet. I feel like a lot of these comments are not the most helpful. I do want to give her time and space and I just need to calm down and think about everything too. I know soon she will contact me

Anonymous(36-45)1 yIf someone blocks me nowadays I Jaír grant their request. They don’t want me in their life then fine. Fair enough. Good riddens.
Now I know how painful it is being a relationship and when someone does this. Exact same thing was done to me a few years ago.
But a few things to consider here:
- She’s got no respect for you. Even if you really did upset her she could at least just ignored you or maturely said “Stop. I don’t want to talk right now.” Her decision to do this says more about her than it says about you. Never take her back as tempting it is (and she will likely reach out again). It’s over.
- Now you get to see how hetero men feel when they have “modern” women do this crap to us.
- Take this as a lesson to never do this to someone else. There is a trend that “hurt people hurt people”. Take that pain and realize how uncool it is to do it to someone else. Don’t get “revenge” on her by doing this to someone else.

Why don't you simply stop with your kind of humor and be more like a person that knows where the limitations are?
You upset her and you obviously were expecting her reaction since it is probably not the first time you pulled such a trick on her.
She was right to block you and perhaps this time, you will learn something.
Since she blocked you, let her contact you again if she feels like it. If not, then you know you crossed a line that you should not have and in that case, it is best to move on but to remember your lesson.

Asker1 yI don’t always joke with her like that and I never prank her. I know what I said made her upset and I want to apologize properly and talk things out when she wants to. It definitely came off the wrong way but I didn’t have any intention to make her upset etc. she has never done this before with me. I just want to communicate with her and hear her out

Don't listen to this person, OP. She's gaslighting you. She's probably an abusive person. I'd bet on it, actually.
@KingslayerC narcissist, run mother fucker run!!!
1 yI had an ex girlfriend who was just your girlfriend. She would just leave when they were upset. I always wanted to talk it out. This was not why be broke up. I'd say give her a month to unblock you. If she doesn't consider it a break up and move on.

Asker1 yKnowing her, it’s not going to be a month to talk to me again (Usually within 24 hours). She told me in the beginning she would never ghost me like that it’s not like her. She usually would turn off her phone if she was upset at me or just didn’t wanna talk at all.
But, this time she blocked me for the first time. I think this is a way for her to feel more space?- 1 y
Sounds like it. Honestly this sound really unhealthy. I can understand wanting some space, but when she comes back you may want to engage in couples counseling.

1 yShe's blocked you...
She ain't your girlfriend no more.
Just bin her off all social, don't block her number unless you feel the need to be like that.
But yeah, you are done,
If she unblocks you and asks what's going on, best thing is no reply.
But if you have to, be breife and don't let her under your skin. Your the target now.
Best thing I did was get off social media all together.
I like this site coz it's like an old school forum, I think that's where it peaked.

Asker1 yI see where you’re coming from which I understand. I know she cares and loves me and I feel the same of course. She said in the beginning that she would never ghost me like that it’s not like her. I think she’s trying a way that makes her feel like she has more space? Either way I want to talk it out and apologize for what I said she usually doesn’t ignore me for more that 24 hours
She sounds bad news, be careful kid

1 yactions speak louder and are more truthful that words, She's shown you that she doesn't respect you or value you. It's time to move on to a better choice of woman as this one is toxic and will only hurt you more. If she later tries to contact you its a power play to show her dominance in the relationship and punish you for pissing her off. That's not love but control and serving only her self interest. You deserve better.

1 yTreat it like a break up and go on about your life. Don't take her back. She sounds like a manipulative abuser. It will get worse over time too.

Asker1 yHow do you think she’s a manipulative abuser? I know she really cares about our relationship and I do too but just asking why
- 1 y
I've been through a thousand fights and no one blocks each other over it. Especially over something so petty. That's manipulative. And people that are manipulative in a way that knowingly causes pain are typically abusive. By definition.

1 yAll you can do is give her time and space, while you strongly consider whether that's a relationship you want to continue.
That kind of bullshit is a lot more common from women than anyone wants to admit.

Anonymous(30-35)1 ymaybe stop using that type of humor around her. it obviously makes her insecure or uncomfortable
give her her space and then figure it out together

Asker1 yYes I agree! She does overthink a lot and I need to think before I say more. Right now I feel a little more confident that we will talk things out soon

If she doesn't... You have already started the healing process and you'll be ahead of the game.00 ReplyAccept she’s no longer your girlfriend and move on.
