I’ve been seeing this guy for a little over a month, and things have been going well overall. He’s affectionate, plans romantic dates, and speaks about our future together, like going on weekend trips. We’ve grown physically closer over time, and on our most recent date, things got very intense. While kissing in his car, he lifted my shirt and touched my boobs ( licking and eating staff ) which felt good in the moment but left me feeling very overwhelmed. I ended up crying, and he comforted me, saying it’s normal and natural. He dropped me off and kissed me goodbye on the chick, but I didn’t say much because I was still emotional. One thing, we're not dating yet, he didn't ask me out but behaves as if we're together.

He usually texts me to let me know when he gets home, but this time he didn’t. I texted him around 2 a. m. to check if he safely got home, and he hasn’t replied yet. I’m now wondering if I scared him off or if he’s pulling back. He’s generally consistent in showing interest, but I’m feeling unsure after last night.

I really like him, but I’m afraid of rushing into something too physical without clear communication about where we stand. How should I handle this situation? Should I wait for him to reach out, or bring up how I felt during our last date? Any advice on setting boundaries while maintaining the connection would be greatly appreciated.

This can go either way if he's a good guy he is most likely beating himself up over it which can explain his distant behavior, that's an if of course, it's a first date you said right or second, either ways it's an approach thats just too soon and without commitment as well, I think you should try reaching out to him again if you see yourself doing too much then pull back, I don't see how it should be necessary for you to reach out to him more than once so if he doesn't respond or is distant then its most likely cause he wants it that way which should be respected, your reaction to his behavior is justified, hopefully he sees it that way as well and he comes around.

Alright, it is a bit of an issue that that level of intimacy drew you into a bit of a breakdown, but if you have any intimacy related trauma from the past you should address it in your own time and maybe get a little counseling or therapy in order to live with it with less effect.

I think you should be honest with him, be direct that you do care for him and you do want to move forward with him in a proper relationship. If the intimacy becomes too much for you you can try things little by little, breaking them down into more manageable acts until you can handle the intimacy. Hopefully somewhere with more privacy than a car

Maybe he thought you felt like you were being forced?

It's probably fine, if you're nice to him he'll probably realize you're not mad and things can get back to normal.
