Why isn't he suddenly texting as much?

I’m so scared right now. About a month ago, I met a guy who lives far away. We’ve been talking on Messenger since then. He used to talk a lot about how he couldn’t wait to see me again when I was with him, and for the first 3 weeks, he’d always say he hoped to see me soon. He said it should happen this month because he’s going to be near me for work, and he promised to let me know when. But about 8 days ago, that was the last time he mentioned it. He’s never really written long messages, but he used to reply super fast, even texting me in the mornings and at night, especially the first week. But for the past 7 days, I’ve had to start the conversation, and now we’ve gone 4 days without talking. After my last message, he didn’t reply at all. We’ve had long breaks in conversation before, and he’s usually reached out again on his own, but this time, it feels different, and I really have this bad feeling… :(

Unfortunately, he seems to have lost interest. It’s easy for that to happen when people can’t see each other regularly, which is one of many reasons why long distance things are a bad idea.
