Why was everyone married back then?

During the 1990s and early 2000s, most people, probably around 85 to 90%, were married by a certain age. Nowadays in 2025, we have a whole generation of young people who keep complaining they can't find anyone. Even with dating apps, you still see men complaining about not being able to find a date. Women complaining about how all guys just want sex. Then there are those who complain that relationships are terrible and traumatizing so they are too scared to fall in love again

Back then, people just got married and had families. There was none of this drama. What happened?

Feminism has poisoned women, as well as social media. Women are not raised to be wives anymore. They are raised to put themselves, their education, and career first. They also have more options than ever before, and though hypergamy has always existed, it is more apparent now than ever before. Women reject the overwhelming majority of men, but then top tier class of men don't want most women. There are plenty of men out their willing to be married, but majority of women don't want them. They might settle later in life, but not when they are at their peak. As for men, they adapt with the landscape. Men nowadays are soft, and women don't want that, but they are that way because of feminism. Women say they want one thing, but their actions show differently. Men just go with the flow.

That might have been true 50 years ago but times change. People don't feel they have to conform to social pressures anymore.

Im just referring to how dating and marriage has gotten so much more toxic and dysfunctional

Because the stigma around premarital sex is dissolving, and women now no longer have to depend on a man for money.

Back then you need a certificate of marriage for sex, now no need of that why people marry... LOL
