Why was everyone married back then?

During the 1990s and early 2000s, most people, probably around 85 to 90%, were married by a certain age. Nowadays in 2025, we have a whole generation of young people who keep complaining they can't find anyone. Even with dating apps, you still see men complaining about not being able to find a date. Women complaining about how all guys just want sex. Then there are those who complain that relationships are terrible and traumatizing so they are too scared to fall in love again

Back then, people just got married and had families. There was none of this drama. What happened?
