Would you rather date someone older or younger?

In a general sense I would say older, but it also depends on how much older and how much younger.

In general I'd prefer a 25 year old woman to a 21 year old woman, 2 years older and younger than me respectively. But I'd still prefer a 21 year old woman to a 30 year old woman, as 30 is too big of a gap for me. I'd still prefer 30 to 16 though, as I don't wanna date a literal child and feel like a pedo, lol.

So closer to my age, no extremes in either direction, but my preference is in general leaning older.

I just don't like being expected to be the "mature" one in the relationship, when I'm the complete opposite. And I like the idea of a partner who can teach me more things and take care of me.

Though to be fair though there are a lot of younger people than me who are more responsible and mature, so yeah... lol.

@nicfire171 I'm 31 and I'd prefer to date a woman who's either a mature-with-playful attitude who's 20 or 24. I prefer having a slight age gap (always legal of course) because when I was 18 or 24 myself, I used to think "I want a woman the same year as me for birth year or a 1 year age gap" and now as an older man at 31, even when I was 28 or so, I've preferred a woman who's about a 4-5 year age gap than me - aka at 28 I knew I'd want someone who's 22 or 22. At 29 I knew I liked 24 as a groovy number

I don't date, have no urge or need to date because there are more negative sides to dating than there will ever be positive sides.

Now, if I was forced to date a person, then there would be a great number of conditions that I place on that option. The major one would obviously be that the person I have to date has intellectual maturity, a great personality and excellent character.

Those can only be achieved with people that have a greater life experience. Another big plus with older people is that they set their life priorities differently than younger ones.

Now, if I was forced to date, then it would be someone 65+ because at that age, thoughts are far from the sexual stuff and more on the real important things in life.

When i was younger i attracted older and was happy with a girl friend... me 4 she 6, me 3 she 4, me 8 she 13 etc. Just friends the most we could do was kiss.

Then i reached 16 and felt my age is preferred but again i attracted older... then i reached 35 and the age 27 who got hurt by men their age found me. So now i prefer younger.

The answer to your question is younger. The reality has been older.

So why ask such a broad question? In what way is anybody's answer going to affect your life in anyway? If you have a specific question about a specific situation that you face then ask about that situation.

@Panthero80 This is why girls in their twenties think they can fool around and go through guy after guy and then end up single and unwanted. They want guys that make more than them and are successful but in this job market only older men can do that not younger ones that are still getting established but the problem is older men don't wan't woman in their thirties because kids are less likely or possibly even off the table. So you end up with woman in their thirties that thought they had all the time in the world and someone will settle for them but nobody does because by the time woman are that age men their own age are established and dating younger woman that they can have children with. Men and womans value rises and decreases based on age the difference is it works in different time frames for men and woman. Woman are more attractive to men when they're younger and men are more attractive to woman in many cases when they're older. If you're a woman and you're single and thirty your odds of dating suck and they're even worse if you have kids in the mix.
