Would you judge a friend who had a mental health disability and wasn’t working because of this?

I would be fine being friends with someone like that. All I care about in a friend is if they're good company and if they have a good heart.

When it comes to dating though, that's an entirely different story. While my heart goes out to them, someone incapable of living without a caregiver, isn't what I'd consider dating material. There's a lot I want to do with my life and I feel it might limit some of it.

However, if I had a partner that was healthy beforehand and I was with them for a long time or married, then I would be completely loyal and live out the rest of my days with them, caring for them if need be.

If they're getting enough on disability benefits to get by then it is fine.

“Weren't in conventional 9-5 department”, so do they work or do they not? Because a lot of us struggle with mental health, some more debilitating than others but if it affects your life to where you can’t even go out to work it’s hard to imagine dating someone who’s so confined to the house, unless I were also someone who didn’t go out much (or at all). On top of that, if you’re not working any job at all and don’t intend to because of your mental health then you’re basically asking for a caretaker in a romantic relationship, or in a friendship someone who can pay for those outings.

No of course not. I was unemployed for a time and during that time had mental health issues so I would never judge a friend who was going through the same thing.

If holding down a job is do hard, then this person has many things to develop and get comfortable with
And dating shouldn’t be a priority

Of course I would date someone who has problems with working. Nvm by friend.

As long as they're trying and consistently. I don't waste my time on anyone that's given up on wanting to improve or something better out of life. Effort is huge.
