Would it bother you if your partner didn’t add you as a friend on their social media apps?

Me personally doesn’t give a shit considering I barely ever use facebook or instagram period , but girls’ I have dated were like how come you don’t accept my friend request? I tell them the truth because I am barely ever on there anymore , I didn’t know social media was that important to you , Do you not trust me? If that’s the case you are probably better off not dating me , Does it bother you if your partner doesn’t add you on their facebook or instagram etc?

I don’t do mainstream social media and haven’t done for the last 10 years or so and have no interest in my girls “feeds”. If she was on them all the time I would naturally be curious but she iant. So … she couldn’t add me.


If I was on social media I don’t believe I would be concerned that she didn’t add me , it’s an app , IDGAF. I measure our live together with what she says and what she does. People need to get off of social media and live their actual lives and not some fake persona / “best life” they have invented to be seen , gain recognition or attention ( positive or negative ) or get those “likes” etc

If someone is not using the social apps, that's a valid reason not to add other people on it. But if she's active and isn't adding me, then it would be very fishy. I would not feel comfortable even if she adds me afterwards. It should not reach to this point to begin with.

Maybe a little. I'm not crazy about socials, but I would find it a bit odd, esp since I'm on the younger side and just about everyone has social media on some level in my generation. I'd probably be concerned he's hiding something unless I knew for a fact he wasn't active

When I was on Facebook, my own family wouldn't respond to my friend requests 🤔 so, I definitely wouldn't expect my significant other to. I figured it was an inside joke between them 🤷

I’m sorry to hear that they are doing that to you , but don’t let it get to you too much it’s just social media , not the end of the world , Shit most of My family doesn’t even use social media whatsoever, so I don’t even care to be honest. Sometimes I think maybe I should be like them and get off social media all together and no longer let it be a part of my life. I know I have decreased on my usage time and it’s actually been nice not allowing social media to consume to much of my time

It's the same with them, they all created pages but never went on it. I know two of my brothers forgot their password and my mom was only active on it for a very short period of time. I was rarely on it myself and eventually deleted my page.

Yea my brother has one as well but he forgot his password and doesn’t use it anymore either , Mine ended up getting hacked , so I gave up on Facebook after that

If we're both actively using that social media, it would be uncommon for me if we don't connect. But it depends on how much she's into tech also. I am, but I don't expect my girl to be into this as much as I am. What matters to me is to have at least one social to chat with her because I find SMS/RCS not so charming

LOL just teasing , I guess it could be a little shady if your partner doesn’t want you to be on their profile , but I wouldn’t make a big deal about it because if someone wants to cheat they are going to cheat wether you have access to their social media or not , so if that’s their intentions , the other person can have them

Yea i understand nobody wants to be cheated on , but if you live your life worried constantly about whether or not your partner is cheating on you, then you should really reconsider that relationship period , because if someone truly loves and values you they aren’t going to do anything to jeopardize the relationship with you , if they do? Oh well , they aren’t the person for you and they will suffer the consequences of their actions.

As I haven;'t joined several of the big social media apps on principle, I'd be supremely unbothered. My life does not need Twitter, it does not need Facebook and I've yet to feel left out by not signing up for Instagram.
