Had a dream I was dating someone else. Meaning/insight?

I had a dream last night that I was dating someone else. I am in a relationship with someone and have been for a couple years now, but yes I do have some issues with them unfortunately. Mostly not respecting me or my feelings and being downright rude and inconsiderate at times and mean when they don't get their way. We have a child together as well.

So in the dream, the guy I met was a police officer in a local small town. I remember him being REALLY handsome and also really nice and respectful. He was really good to me and my child.

When I woke up, I found that so odd. I've always said I wouldn't date a police officer because I'd be so afraid with their safety every day due to their line of work. I usually don't remember dreams either but I remembered this one.

Why would I have that dream?

Since your real life relationship is difficult right now, the dream probably expressed your desire for change in your partner and for your relationship with him to improve. That’s how I would look at the dream.

That makes a lot of sense. I do wish it would change. I really do. I mean some of the stuff he does is absolutely ridiculous. I definitely want a lot more respect and consideration. I've talked about it several times and it does not change.
