Is this related to a dream I had about dating?

I remember during my last year of university, I told a girl from school I never had a boyfriend because every time I met a guy I liked, God would sabotage my chances to date them.

Later God came to me in a dream and told me he would sabotage every attempt I made to date somebody who did not fully reflect all of His bible teachings and principles, because God wanted to protect me from abusive relationships and abusive people.
