How can I meet someone for a serious relationship at 45 when new to the area?

I’m 45, never been married, no kids. It’s not that I’ve been the type that’s promiscuous or a player, it’s just what I had to deal with in my life that left me single. In my early 20s, my father’s health started to decline, so I had him live with me, so for a number of years my life was about working and caring for him. Then my epilepsy relapsed when I was 28, for the next 10 years I was on disability, constantly seeing a specialist, going through multiple medications and brain surgery. During that time, any relationships were people that weren’t real serious, or they got scared off by my medical condition. Once it was under control I went back to college, and graduated. I had been in a relationship for 5 years, only for her to leave me the very day I finished school. To get over things I buried myself in a job, succeeding at a new career. I received a better job offer 7 months ago, been commuting, and now I’ve put a deposit and rent on a house in the city I work in, so I’m moving 75 miles.

I don’t know anyone in this city, it’s moved me even further away from any friends and family, and is the first time moving somewhere that I don’t know anyone.

There’s always people that say try going to church or social events, however, I don’t believe church is the right place to try to pursue relationships and dating. I’ve thought that maybe online might be the only actual place to really try. What recommendations does anyone have that actually have a good chance? Like I said I’m not into casual things, I’m looking for something that’s more serious than that
