Travel for love?

It's not the first time that due to my activity on dating apps I get to a point where I have to decide if I go visit a girl in her county.

I am aware that dating apps may give false expectations about how someone actually is. In fact I did it just a few weeks ago flying to Thailand and ending up being with girls with whom I realized I was not in love.

English is not my native language and the level of English in those Asiatic counties is not actually ad good as one would like, therefore making communication challenging.

now I would have another opportunity with another girl in Cambodia. I think I like her. And we chat and say each other how much we love each other.

What do you recommend me to do?

In my Life I have used online dating to get girlfriends. Back in tbe days it was different, because chatting was seen ad a way to socialize and make friends. It was not like today. I did indeed have healthy relationships. I did have a group of friends and going with them would always be the first option. But now, 20 years later, with a very reduced group of friends,, online dating goes first because it's more difficult to have that support of friends and actually make plans to go out.

I don't know how you can love someone you've never met in person. It isn't a real relationship until you meet in person. That being said, travel wherever you want as much as you can afford but don't expect much as far as relationships go. My wife is from SE Asia and I've traveled there many times. I've met too many guys over there who met someone online, chatted for months or years only to have the relationship crash and burn within days of arrival. It's not uncommon for Asian women to be chatting with 2-5 guys online at the same time hoping that one will come and be their White Knight and save them from poverty. Your best bet is to go there and meet in person because there are lots of guys moving there and your online dating can't compete with a guy who is already there.

I don't expect too much, I am aware. It already happened in June in Thailand. Those are the risks of online dating, you never know who you are going to meet, and most of the times is not the idilic person you were chatting with. Anyway , I hope nothing bad happens this time (Apart from the "love not found , please try again" experience. Thanks!

Thailand is awesome and if love doesn't work out, you can still have an amazing vacation. I haven't been to Cambodia yet but I've heard it can get a little wild. Go there for the vacation and enjoy Cambodia and don't worry about the rest. If you're friendly and respectful over there you'll meet lots of women.

In your own words, "I THINK I like her" means that you are not certain and that you may just like her but not love her. That is not enough to want to travel to a foreign country unless you are expecting to be able to get into her pants and then, once the deed is accomplished, go back home and find another girl that you think you may like.

Be wise and get off those dating apps which are actually nothing more than pickup and hookup sites.

If you are on those sites just to get laid, then these trips abroad are going to cost you a lot at then end and not bring you anything other than perhaps a venereal disease.

Dating apps are like masturbating, it's a way to get pleasure fast and easy. I'm not on any dating site right now but I know myself and I know that when I feel lonely and desperate I would go in there to find pleasure.

Apps are designed to help you find someone within X% distance of you. If you're choosing impossible distances then you're subliminally not ready to be in a relationship. LDR don't work.

It is laughable that 99% of people have zero success on dating apps and yet fools still think they might be one of the 1% that does. It is even more laughable when they could walk out their front door and meet someone in person today.

Furthermore, traveling for romantic reasons is even more absurd.

Having success in dating apps is not the problem. The problem is finding the right person and that online dating is somehow addictive.

Your probably right, the other day I went out and met some nice people and also woman. And then I got shocked after I saw how a nice lady went with the other guy. I was so disappointed..
