Would you go out with someone from high school or your hometown?

I just matched with this guy that I thought looked familiar but wasn't sure until I checked my Facebook.

We graduated high school together but never talked. He was kind of quiet and not really popular and neither was I. So we never really crossed paths except for maybe one or two classes.

I'm not sure if I should proceed. I made a rule to never go out with people from my hometown, but I can't lie to say that I'm a bit intrigued and kind of want to see how this goes.

I don't see why not. You will have something in common to talk about. I married my best friend I met in high school back in 2009. We just had our 12th wedding anniversary. Still love him to pieces. I say give it a shot.

Sure, I already dated a couple guys from my hometown. One was just for a couple months but the other one lasted a little over two years.

If you did some investigating, you would probably be shocked by
A) How many people from your hometown are happily married to either a former classmate or someone from their hometown.
B) How many classmates meet later in life and end up in good relationships.

I know I'm shocked by people I know that experienced that. I'd give it a chance!

When I visited my country 2 months ago, i went out with old friend. I paid for the foods, drinks, toll card. And that’s fine for me.
But when he dropped me to my hotel, he asked to see my hotel room, of course I didn’t allow it. But also he asked money for the gas 🙄🙄🙄

It was cheaper to pay Uber round way trip to the restaurant than the amount of that gas money he asked. Like 4 times more expensive compared if i just take Uber to go there.

I’m still in school but I don’t see why not. It seems like it would be a good thing. Like it would be easy to break the ice already having things in common to talk about. Plus, if it doesn’t work out you’re only in the same position you were in before. It’s not like if it doesn’t work out it would be any worse than it not working out with someone else. It could go either way just like with anyone.

Because I lived in a very small town where all people do is talk. I don't want to be the talk of the town if things go badly.

There was a girl I knew in high school that I sort of liked but it never went anywhere. When I got back from the Air Force we dated for a while until I found out that she was supposed to marry somebody else.

I was not serious about her anyway. After a few months I got a letter from her. She tells me that she joined the Peace Corps. Then the next summer I met this guy at a club. I told her where I grew up and he asked me if I knew this girl. It turns out that he was the guy she was going to marry.

I did in my 20s after about 15 years from leaving school I bumped into a girl I had a crush on as a 14 year old and we got it on though she'd been married and was separated and had two young daughters in primary school. It was nice though she didn't like when I bought a townhouse in a city neighbourhood she didn't like (was all my own money as she had her own place) and things deteriorated from then.

I'm not sure if he lives in the area. I will have to look into that. He is working for the national guard which is a plus.

I have done both but waited till out of high school. As for being from my home town, that is a non-issue. Especially with almost everyone I once knew having moved out of state or has passed away from various forms of accidents and whatnot.
