I understand the men but i dont understand the women 😭

Once upon a time when communities supported eachother being a stay at home mum didn't mean being isolated. It meant being sociable with family and other mums at home. But now a days being a mum is extremely isolating for many. It's also thankless. The man who goes to work thinks it's "easy" and doesn't consider the lonely factor. I suffered terribly with depression when my husband worked nights and slept in tje day so we had no time together hardly and I'm surrounded by noisy kids at play groups or boring other mums with "exciting" discussions about nap times and potty training. Hated it!

I'm so happy I'm now at a stage where my kids have gone and I can work on my studies and career!

Maybe its because you werent as engaging with your kids as you should have been. Cartoons isn't raising a kid

Dude i don't think it's your place to judge, different things work for different families and kids ok, maybe it did maybe it didn't and so what if she got tired of being a stay at home parent it's exhausting it should be something they both partake in dummy plus you don't know if it was just cartoons or if there was more to how she raised them she's probably lying tired of people judging her and never really listening to say what more there was she did when raising her kids okay.

I did reply to this but I guess it didn't post.

I actually stopped having tv at all with my oldest. Tablets and mobiles were not really a big thing. My daughter was like 6 before tablets started being sonething kids were glued to.
I soent majority of my time at play groups, cafes and nurseries with my daughter. My husband worked nights and we lived in an apartment. So I was out all day so he could sleep without noise. It was hard. I didn't enjoy talking about nappies and baby food with other mums. Excuse me for that. For actually wanting decent conversation. Going back to work was so good. I went part time so still raising my daughters. It just meant I got a break. But I'm saying with support in communities mothers probably used to get breaks. Or sone people still do. But I didn't have that kind of support.

It has always been a shared thing for us. When our daughter was born, my wife stayed at home for the first six years. Due to circumstances beyond our control, we had no parents or parents-in-law we could rely upon.

It was a conscious choice. But as soon as I came home from work, I took care of our child, changed her, washed her in the shower, read bedtime stories when she was a bit older.

About the time I left my previous job and started work on a self-employed basis, my wife landed a job in the center of town. So I was the one taking my daughter to school, picking her up again, preparing meals, until my wife came home and took over from me.

For us, our professional careers dictate our choices.

Its good to have a backup plan but its better to know who you marry so you dont have to worry about it

Do you somehow think it's that easy to know who you married, they could change for no reason at all without showing any signs okay it's not that simple, your question isn't that simple of a question so none of the answers will be as simple as they seem.

You're a complete idiot. You know that you could know exactly who you married, but that doesn't mean they won't change in unexpected ways. That's why they are called unexpected dumbass. Unfortunately sometimes you think you know who you married and they change, or something otherwise unexpected happens. It is best to have a safety net of some kind if the unthinkable happens

I would choose both, me and my husband would both wanna be home with the kid (s) so we'd both have careers but it depends on the situation who spends time with the child and we'd both just pay bills, I'd focus on half and so would he then we'd have our off days to go on amazing adventures.
