Daughter dating a guy who groomed her what would you do?

My daughter was 15 at the time and a Girl Scout. A younger leader (18) took a liking to her and they were sneaking about on camps etc. I found out and put a stop to it. It’s actually illegal in my country under the sexual offences act.

She’s now 17 and he’s 20 and it’s legal and she’s just confessed to seeing him all a long. I absolutely hate the guy. I’m wondering should I play it cool pretend to be ok, be nice to him in the hope she will get bored and dump him?

But since it's your daughter, why don't you give the boy a chance and just find out who he is? What he's all about without having an attitude. Already involved

That thing's just play out. The odds are it's not gonna last anyway. the older they get but sometimes they do for 5 to 10 years then they split up or get a divorce remember it's not about you

It's hard jump to that conclusion, people dating in 3 year gap is pretty common. You could say maybe he'd used his power position? But what power does a barley leader scout have. It could be genuine they just liked each other. And now it's been a relationship for 2 years making it even less likely.

But actually if you hate him anyway and think that to be true, yes playing it cool is the right choice. Otherwise it'll backfire and she'll only want him more. So whether he did or not the best action is the same.

And if years go by and they're still together planning to get married etc everything happy, then you'd need to see that it was genuine. Or even if they do break loose but she's not saying that he did that to her it was just normal typical young romance.

18 is pretty young to call him a groomer. Teens do fall for each other. You've seen them together. How does he treat her?
