Guys What did I do to make him remember me?

I've been going to this place for 8 years. In the last 2 years, I tried to make it my mission to go once a month or once every 2 months. Usually, when I go there, I have a different person every time.
It's a place where you cut your own meat. It's a nice quiet place with K-pop mvs in the background and enough space to move around. When you get the meat, the person will go around and help you out, but you're actually supposed to do it on your own. In my case, it's difficult because all the scissors are right-handed, and I'm left-handed, so I can't cut. So whenever I decide to go, I go 30 mins - an hour after they open to beat the rush and allow the workers time in between to help me. Also, I don't want a big flame and burnt food because I can't cut. I get the same 3 meats and the same sides. I sit alone and watch an episode of a kdrama, then get the bill at the 75 mins mark ( i set an alarm. We only have 90 mins), then leave. Again, I'm not used to seeing the same waiters there, and they probably have a lot of customers.
But as soon as he saw me, he welcomed me back and remembered some of my items and that I needed help with my food.
I have another question to ask about this restaurant, but I guess I'll wait until later. 🤷🏽‍♀️

While you may have thought your visits were random, going once every month or two for two years, arriving at the same time, ordering the same specific items, and always needing that special help with the scissors created a consistent and memorable experience for the staff. The combination of your specific routine right down to watching a KDrama, timing your visit, and the need for assistance formed a pattern that allowed him to recognize and recall you. He didn't just remember a face; he remembered the whole unique experience you brought with you each time you came in.

He may remember you because you always order the same thing or because he finds you attractive. Some waiters make an effort to try to remember customer orders so the get a bigger tip.

Despite it often being a different server, I believe you’ve gone enough that someone is going to remember you. You don’t have to do anything in particular, it’s just in service we get a better memory. That’s how I remember a woman I haven’t seen come into the shop since Christmas, or a guy who regularly schedules his services with different ladies but on occasion when I see him in the lobby I say hi.

Some guys are just like that. Good memories.

I went to a place in March and when I came back in August the guy remembered me and welcomed me as if I’d just shown up yesterday… and remembered my little story and beverage and all of it. 🤷🏻‍♀️

But I’m pretty sure a guy like that is that way with many people. They just have a welcoming nature.
