I am more of an academic type of nerdy guy (29) than the mainstream comic books/video games type. I'm working toward a PhD in theoretical physics right now, started PhD a ittle late because of two Masters degrees beforehand. Hobbywise, I am more into classical literature, playing instruments, painting, crafting, and gardening, and particularly skilled at them.
I enjoy cooking and am very skilled at creating things from scratch. I have translated numerous ancient Roman, French, German, and old English recipes. On weekends, I often go hiking, volunteer at pet shelters, and care homes.
However, I have never had a girlfriend so far. I can be a bit shy when it comes to women. Have previously seen women getting turned off by hearing Physics (even though I never go into specifics) or learning about me never having a girlfriend before, and eventually, they ghosted. Despite my friends' advice, I don't want to enter into a relationship under false pretenses because I have been single my entire life.
I think, lookwise, I am average, as I see plenty of men who look lesser are in relationships. However, I am not good at playing games at the beginning of the dating phase.
Judging from some of the feedback from female/male friends... I would assume that a lot of women don't wanna date serious academic types of guys or guys without many past relationships/sexual relationships at my age, as almost everyone already has had several long-term relationships/hookups by now.
These days, I am losing hope of ever finding anyone, or that even if I do, they'll probably not like me personally and will only want to settle down.
