Yes, for 10 years I dated a woman from India and we had a BLAST together until I discovered that she'd been cheating on me!
At one point, just as I was starting to get the idea that something was awry, she tried to set me up with a cute French girl but all we did that evening was hang out together and then, by the end of the night Ann told me that she was moving back to France the next day! Either later that night or the next day, my girlfriend came rushing in and told me not to date Ann. She wouldn't tell me why, only that there was something not very nice about her and I wouldn't like her because of that. It didn't matter, she was already getting ready to go back to France!!
About 10 years later, a FB friend of mine in Mich. decided to send me loads of her FB friends so I wouldn't be so lonely but, most of them were from all over the world and hardly any of them spoke English!! One spoke a tiny bit of English and I got to be friends with her. We chatted every so often for a few weeks, maybe 2 months. She's from Bulgaria. Aug. 10th (I think), I was getting this progressively stiffer feeling in my upper back and I was afraid it COULD be an oncoming heart attack so, better go to the ER to check it out! Mom drove me to the hospital, a mile away, and it was about 10:00 p. m.. Before leaving, I decided to let 3 or 4 of my online friends know what was going on and even said goodbye to them in case I died overnight.
They decided to keep me overnight to run some tests on me first thing in the morning! I got back home just after dinner time the next day and there was no impending heart attack of any kind. We decided that it was a skeletal issue and, the next day, I went to see my chiropractor and he fixed me right up in a heartbeat!
Anyway, I get home from the hospital and, one of the first things I did was to check to see if any of those people had anything to say to me about my supposed condition. One friend, who I thought was my closest, and I thought would be VERY worried and worked up about it, never said a word about it!! I'm pretty sure I never heard from her again and stopped talking to her! My other close friend at least said something about it but, I don't recall what, anymore. We stayed friend another 9 or 10 years until SHE died of a heart attack!
My third friend, from Bulgaria, sent me a number of messages crying about losing me and hoping I'd be okay and she couldn't WAIT to talk to me again and when I did start talking with her, she fessed up that she'd fallen in love with me!! I had no idea!!! Besides, she's married with two kids!! Of course, her hubby beats the piss out of her on a regular basis!! So, she was planning on leaving him soon, anyway. Of course, I couldn't promise anything about us getting together any time soon because I just didn't have the money but, we fell in love for the next several months. One day, her hubby beat the snot out of her, again, this scared her and she ran away and I never heard from her again except for one quick message a few months later.
And, now, I'm very seriously involved with a girl that lives in England, that I fully intend to marry.

I'm Canadian and my wife is from the Philippines. I visited there and loved the culture and people. I've dated other cultures but I connected better with Filipinas so I decided I was going to marry one and retire there. She hates Western culture and hates living here which is fine with me. The only thing that's a bit weird is that we have very different comfort food so most nights we cook our own dinners. There are lots of potential conflicts but most of the time we just don't care and chalk it up to cultural differences and not worth arguing about.
