What do you think of this situation after the first date?

I went on a 7 hour first date with a girl on Monday. The date was really good, we talked basically for the whole time and we both felt comfortable with each other the whole way through especially for a first date and also considering there’s a semi language barrier with us (I’m Australian living in Australia, the girl is from LATAM but knows English to a decent level). Since the date though her texts have been shorter with a much longer reply time too.

I asked both a guy friend and a girl friend on their thoughts. The guy friend said that I need to play it cool, don’t text back long replies (started this in the last photo) but he also said she likes me but is testing me hard right now to see if I’ll over-text/come on too desperate etc. The girl friend said she doesn’t see anything wrong with the interaction and said she thinks the girl is keen on me.

What do you think? Is it normal for a girl to pull back a bit/test a guy after a first date? Is there anything different you can see through your eyes that you think is happening here? Or am I completely overthinking the whole thing?

It’s totally normal for someone to pull back a bit after a long first date, especially if she’s processing her feelings or just wants to see if you’re confident without over-texting. Keep your messages light, casual, and don’t overanalyze the timing—she’s likely still interested but pacing herself. A dating coach for men would tell you to let her initiate a little while you stay consistent and playful, showing interest without seeming needy.

I would say both, but probably more too little from her

I don't think she is testing you. Some people just don't text a lot. Have a friend like that. We have a group chat and she rarely chimes in.

I get that that example isn't about someone that I'm dating, but it still shows that some are not big texters. I would not read too much into it like there is an ulterior motive or she is playing games.

She seems responsive, even if it takes her a bit. So, I would say no. I don't think you need to do anything differently.

You shouldn’t sweat it , she is still accepting plans to see you , which is a good thing , she is probably not texting much because she doesn’t want to come off as desperate

I don't see anything wrong with the interaction. Sometimes of her replies are simple but that's normal.

If I were her, I would be dumping your ass right now. Texting alone is unacceptable enough, but posting the conversations online is damn low.
