Yes and no. To and extent they never left. When I care about someone I care about them for the rest of my life. I don't know how you turn something like that off. But I know how unhealthy having her in my life is. So I actively feed my brain continously loop of her most toxic moments. I never allow her to get into my head and a rarely talk to her. If I do it's generally only a couple word responses. But i wish her well, and hope she breaks out of what's made her such a trainwreck. For HER sake.

I've never been in a relationship, but I had something happen similarly with a crush. Everytime I saw her or she gave me attention, more fuel was added to my desire for her. It seemed like everytime I saw her, she was more beautiful. No one else has had the same effect on me.

There are a lot of reasons I could think of. The simplest answer is I'm very introverted and intimidating to approach (especially now). Unfortunately, I waited to long to make my move.
