If you could change one thing about how you approach relationships, what would it be and why?

Well given that as a person I am very rigid with very little flexibility. I am also a person who is highly resistant to changes (major changes). I am also a person who is very strict and intolerant with many things like I am very particular about how people interact with me, how they behave with me. I will never tolerate any drama, any manipulative mind games, and display of bad attitude etc. I am always alert and I always watch for even the smallest of signs in regards to toxic behaviour and red flags. The moment I see any such indication then no matter what relation I have with the person will end immediately and no second chances given (subject to the situation).

Hence for me I know only 1 approach towards relationships which is be logical, rational, alert and deal with people based on the situation and their actions how my equation is with them. Yes, relationships are important to me but for me LOGIC and doing what I believe is right is more important to me.

Given all this information , it is indeed very tough for me to form good lasting relationships with people and it is going to remain this way till I live. Its fine though. I am fine with the consequences but my approach will never change.

I wish I could know a woman's motives from the start. It would change everything about how I interact with them.

Most women are very adamant about not giving a guy any clue about how she feels about him. The problem is good women have no clue about how many bad women use men. So this generally leaves 2 types of guys. Guys who are only after women for whatever they're after (generally sex). Or men who have learn the hard way to be on their guard. And since the men who are only in it to exploit her have nothing to lose. They can say anything she wants to hear without fear of repercussion. If it doesn't work out he can just move on to the next woman. I don't have to explain to you how this plays out.

This reality is this. Only a handful of women I've dated were ever interested in me. Or there were many women who were, but just didn't want to make it known. Regardless, I've become quite adept at reading the women who just wanted to use me in some fashion. Most used feminine wiles in some way. But it does make me wonder how many I misread based on the actions of the users.

I’d be less worried and closed off. When you go through tough stuff in a relationship it makes you pay attention more and trust a little less.

But to be honest, I think my innocent self was beautiful and just right for the right guy…

I can try being slightly more direct. Being clearer in what exactly I'm looking for.  Although , it can also backfire because someone might think I'm intimidating and or high maintenance

Once people stop changing themselves for someone else that in the end could leave you. I’m taking to men and women here both are guilty nobody’s worth sacrificing yourself for. Also, a genuinely good person doesn’t want you to either but if they don’t see the real you until you’re already in love that causes issues. Verses just leaving people.

Don’t tolerate bad behavior number one understand that nobody’s perfect and shit happens. But intentional and repeated acts of disrespect shouldn’t be tolerated. Don’t try to “hold them accountable” unless it involves simply leaving. Don’t make empty threats or cause someone to pretend to change for a while.

If all you have to offer is sex or materialistic value. What type of people are you going to attract? People who want a deep connection or people only after that?

I wouldn't change one thing. There comes a point where I talk to myself. I smile, I say, okay. What are you going to do? I'm in love? Is this going to be worth it? How much do you really love this person? Does this person really love you? If something was to happen, can you handle the breakup? Can you just walk away and let it all go? And not feel that pain, and if I tell myself, yes, then I go for it and whatever happens happens, all I know is, I will put my 100% in. And I hope that the person that I am in love with will do the same thing, but you can't make anybody do anything So if they can't , and if something happens , you have to be able to be strong and walk away
