I think that one definition would be when a person has a passion for something and it's something they study and persued and learn all they can about it because it thrills them to pursue it and know everything they can about it.

My late boyfriend told me that astronomy was his passion in life. And he was self taught all about it because he couldn't go to college because he had ADHD. Even with that, he would surpass the people who did learn about it in college and had a degree and as it turned out, he knew more than they did about it.

The actual definition of the word passion is a strong movement of an appetite or emotions. It comes from a Latin word "passio", which means "to suffer". So if you ask me, it's something that either causes you to suffer or for which you are willing to suffer.

Then I looked it up online and found out that the word itself comes from the latin word “passio”
Which means: to suffer.

So clearly ancient civilizations agreed with me on this one.

Passion is a burning feeling that disrupts our minds and bodies and requires the a complex treatment, being with the person responsible for triggering those feelings

When something really matters to us. Like how a kid hands you a plastic toy apple and tells you to eat it. You eat that plastic apple! It dont matter how big or manly we think we are. Lol thats passion.
