In most healthy dating scenarios, a tough cookie is appealing because her independence and high standards are attractive qualities, not because she's a puzzle to solve.

People who treat dating like a conquest usually do so for a temporary ego boost, which often leads to a lot of unnecessary hurt for both sides.

Yeah, I think it was for a conquest bc it feels very hurtful to be doted on and spoiled one moment then ignored another moment and treated like a yo-yo. Also, if it was just for a temp ego boost would the guy have dragged things out for over a year?

It just seems like a big waste of his time and resources. (Mine as well, but if he's just messing around then that's not a concern he's having.) I just don't see why bother with someone at all if you're not serious about them.
