Why do arrogant people think they’re smarter than everyone else?

I came across two men on a dating app who’d rejected me ages ago, thinking they could do better. I know both these guys in person. by the way. Then obviously they couldn’t do better, so now the two of them keep popping up and hitting on me on dating apps. In the most recent ones, they thought they were being really sneaky; one of them by wearing a beanie over his head, rather than showing his hair, which is a mass of curls (he’s very handsome that one, he models and looks like a young Barry Gibb from The Bee Gees).

The other man is average looking but has a beautiful body from all the exercise he does. He thought that keeping his prior job as his current profession while making his hair look like a comb over, so he’d look bald/shaved would trick me. I immediately figured them both out. As I’m sure lots of other women they were also later trying to settle for must’ve also concluded.

It's a defensive structure, not a character trait. Most chronic arrogance isn't genuine confidence — it's a fortress built around deep insecurity.

You can't think straight nor are willing to listen to learn if you seriously think you know it all.

I would not call the example arrogance , and who knows what has happened in between , circumstances change.
