Imagine dating a guy from a really rich family and he earns double what you earn, making good money.

Let’s say he is cautious he pays for the first dates then requests 50/50. So you set up a joint account and put equal money in. He also gets you modest, not like designer stuff.

The reasons are due to concerns of being used, finding a gold digger, and being fair. Also concerns of like what if the girl leaves you and you’ve made this financial commitment to pay for the majority.

I would understand and it would be okay to do 50/50

Id have no problems doing 50/50 but it would be a turnoff that he would think that i would be after his money and is so focused on it that he makes it his whole dating personality.

As long as he cares for me and does nice (read: not expensive) things for me then I'd be happy. Even happier if he is into video games and wants to spend time doing that with me lol

I get that he doesn't want to get burned, but personally I would be insulted he'd even think that of me. Id rather he just not tell me he's rich in the beginning so it wouldn't even be an issue. After we get serious if he wants to reveal that then that works.

You’re hurt because someone used you, which is understandable. You just have to be more careful with who you date next. Take your time getting to know a woman before getting into a relationship so you can see what kind of person she is.

No so I’ve never been used but this is what I did in my recent relationship and she seemed fine with it and it only came out at the end like she didn’t feel special.

You can split bills without doing that.

I’m always 50/50 when I started dating my current boyfriend. That’s the way to do it. After almost two years, we don’t keep track.

We also both come from wealthy families.

I have no problem doing 50/50. But a joint account I would only do after we have been together for quite some time.
