Do you find people who read attractive?

There's one part of me who finds it sexy and another that has a bad taste from meeting people who do but can become rather pompous over it. As if they expect everyone to have the same perspectives they've learned.

I know that's not everyone but it still gives me that same feeling I get when I'm excited to cook something but dreading cleaning the kitchen after.

I could take it or leave it. Now my wife finds men who read very attractive.. And my average number of books read annually is over 500. For example, last year I read 411 books. 2024 I read 735, and this year I have already read 216 books.

There's probably one part of me who notices women reading and another that does not notice them. However, I'm rarely in touch with any of these parts within me, so I can't really measure the resulting attraction 🫤

it doesn't really matter to me...

I'm usually more attracted to people for who they are and how they are... and not exactly because of what they do or won't do

and I do know plenty of readers... in fact, all of my best and close friends are readers, lmao

the funny thing is, not all of them like to talk about books with others, and mostly keep it to themselves and they enjoy it better that way

I would say it's less that I want to talk about books with them and more it reveals an inquisitive or maybe a disciplined side of someone. I haven't thought very deeply about it so it's hard to describe exactly why it's attractive to me. My guess is I feel people who read have a little higher of a capacity for depth and attention span. I think it insinuates an intenseness that I correlate to dependability.

well, there's sure a whole lot of positive things that one could perceive from that, yes...

there's focus, for once... there's passion, if they're really into, yes

usually a great deal of imagination and also introspection within themselves

now... how these express or manifest can go either way, good or bad... because a lot of readers also tend to idealize and ignore reality, or shut down rather than free themselves, and that's not always reliable

in the best case scenario, then yes... after all, the most wonderful people in life, are also readers themselves

Meh. I admire women that are curious about the world in whatever form that takes.

I've only had one partner whose reading habits overlap my own meaningfully. Sure, it's a nice to have in common, like it's nice if she has a trust fund or neck down alopecia, but it's not a big issue either way.

No. I don't find them unattractive either. It just irrelevant to me.
