When I was in my early 20s I met a guy who came from old money and a very wealthy family. He was in Uni studying Law and lived in his Parents mansion, which i visited multiple times. I liked this guy for a long time and I admit that the fact that he came from a wealthy family made me see him as a successful guy. As the years went by I started building my career and became very successful myself. The years went by and my opinion changed on him, while I was building a life and working full time this guy was still in the same place as when I met him living at his Parents mansion with no job possibly living of an allowance, zero ambition. I started taking him less seriously and started seeing him as a looser. I feel like I outgrew him and eventually lost interest.

I don't think the background matters for them, the question is can he provide what they seek? If he is successful on his own in his way that is attractive because it shows he is competent and can provide for her. If he's some loser that just feeds of his rich dad but slacks at home all day and has no skills whatsoever I don't think that has any bonus attraction.
