Is it creepy for a man to have zero social media presence in 2026?

I just watched a video that seemed sort of Red Pill adjacent but the guy didn't seem like a full on cult member. The core message of the video is his friend asked for a woman's phone number in a supermarket after chatting her up went well. She didn't want to give him her number but offered to exchange social media. The moment he told her he has no social media, she called him creepy and broke off the conversation.

I know the first thing women do when they meet a guy is to take his name and phone number and start digging into his background using their phone. On the one hand I can see a certain logic to finding out a little about some random guy trying to date you. On the other hand deep diving into someone's life 24X7 is creepy as fuck.

Personally I have near zero social media presence. I found it a monumental waste of time. I actually pay someone to erase my presence from the internet. It has mothing thing to do with dating. The thought never crossed my mind. I do it for security reasons. My phone number is reserved for people on an approved caller list. What they get initially is a phantom number answered by AI that screens unknown callers to weed out scammers, telemarketers etc. I don't care to be bothered with. In time I may add a person to the approved caller list and give them my real number. But only a handful of people get that.

Does that make me creepy? Tough! My concerns are physical and financial security. For legitimate reasons. I may or may not have made some enemies in my lifetime. And I work on high stakes financial deals. So does a guy's completely empty search results...

  • Frustrate you?
  • Piss you off?
  • Raise a red flag?

I've never had a woman react like he describes. But I'm older and not generally interacting with 20 somethings. Women I meet are face to face interactions and usually through friends or a friend group. So that becomes my bona fides as a real person.
