You should get your own transportation to a first date, especially since if things don't go well, yuo can just leave. If you rely on the other person for transportation, you probably can't even leave if the date goes bad.

This is really dumb on both persons' parts anyway.

she was basically telling him i'm not paying. but he should've picked her up. that was stupid. it's on her to get there. she sounded broke and high maintenance.
