Can kissing on the neck ever be platonic?

I have known this guy for a long time. Last couple of times, he greeted me with a hug and place his lips on the base of my neck. He has never done this before ! Did the same when we were saying goodbye.

I was wondering if he has other feelings, besides friendship, though I know he does like me.

Can neck kisses be platonic?

Oh and the real answer is no. If a guy kisses your neck he for sure likes you more than a freind.

Perhaps some men don't know that they shouldn't kiss a woman friend on the neck? Maybe he is just being friendly and affectionate? Or am I just naive ?
