I asked mine to do two things. He talked to me about us two hanging out this past weekend. It wasn’t set in stone plans but I was like sure. He mentioned during the week maybe having to work. I didn’t hear from him all weekend.

I texted him and asked me when we talk about plans and things come up I would like him to send a curtesy text. I told him I was out with my pals so it is no big deal. It’s just a respect thing.

He also talks to girls and other girls in front of me. I told him even though we are just hanging out, I really would prefer it that he didn’t talk about other girls or to other girls in front of me. When I’m hanging out with him or spending my time with him, I kind of want him to myself. Again it is just a respect thing. That I require a certain amount of mutual respect from the guys I talk to or hang out with.

He got mad and said it was to many rules and ramifications for two people just hanging out. He wished me the best.

I think boundaries are important including for people just hanging out.

Try to keep it realistic. Not how you think you should respond or how you wish you would respond but how you really would respond. And of course not everyone is going to think being asked to see a movie “means” anything so even if you’re not into me you can still say yes. But many people will see it as a date proposition and feel the need to deal with it accordingly, so how do you respond?

Im not trying to gauge Anyones feelings i am interested in how people handle friendly potential romantic interest, when they are not the ones interested.

So I met my best friend a little over a year and a half ago. We both work at the same place and hang out outside of work and go to the same college (we were basically roommates). I was originally “in love” with another guy whenever we started hanging out, and he helped show me that he was toxic for me. After that, I was able to get over that guy and focus on myself. Doing that, I realized that I actually had feelings for my best friend. I thought it was nothing at first, but throughout our friendship, those feelings have grown a lot stronger.
We both love Star Wars and Marvel. He makes sure I know that I am invited to different events that he is going to and tries to include me in everything. We go on late night drives (just the two of us) and listen to music or talk if either of us are upset or overwhelmed. People always know that he rides shotgun in my car because he designated himself as my co-pilot. I have had a few people ask me if we were dating because of how we act with each other.
The reason I haven’t told him yet is because he has a girlfriend. This hasn’t been a long-term girlfriend, but it’s been going well for them so far. He’s fallen for both of my best friends in the past and I’ve always been there to give him advice about any of the girls he was thinking about dating. Currently, his girlfriend and him are doing well (other than one night that they got in a fight and he ended up crying and talking to me about it).
I’ve had the overwhelming urge to tell him lately because my feelings are growing so strong and it hurts me a lot of the time. He’s also been teasing me a lot lately (jokingly) and is always cracking inside jokes with me which hasn’t helped. His girlfriend is so great and I love her. I’m just scared that I’m gonna go insane if I don’t tell him. I also don’t want to lose him as a friend because I don’t think I’ll be able to handle it. People keep telling me to let it run it’s course and I’ll get over it, but I haven’t.

What should I do?

All the hot guys seem to be so far away 🤦‍♀️ I need to go out more. Barely any hot guys on dating apps as well

Who do you think have a harder time finding a lover?

2 months ago, we went out to dinner and talked for 3 hrs on first meet up. We were in contact via Instagram messages. Then we talked on the phone to buy tickets & see the Spider-Man movie. The day before movie I asked if he could stop sending those IG video reels politely, it was a bit overboard. On day of movie, he said good morning and I replied with a wave emoji. He normally would continue the conversation via Instagram but doesn’t message again until he said he was waiting at the theater. I was not as bubbly as I was on first meet up , I was very quiet (not against him). He was annoying me during the movie, he’s the type to laugh and make noises when something exciting came on. He nudged me during the movie and asked if I was ok because I was quiet and I said yes. At the end I told him thanks, he said you’re welcome and he said drive safe. When I spoke with him on phone day before movie, he told me that he talked about me with his friends but after movie he sent a message just now saying that he wasn’t really feeling it from me and it’s not going to work for him. I was more upset that he beat me to rejecting him, I would have done it if he didn’t. Flash fwd to a month ago, he sends me a dm with an inside joke, I just left him on read again. He continues to follow me on social media but unmatched with me from the dating app we met through, I unfollowed him from IG.

Many times I've been told that love will find me sooner or later, that if it's meant to be, it will happen. I'm 23 and so far no luck. I don't like to drink so socializing isn't really the best skill of mine.

At the same time people say that you should go and search for love, not just wait but then they say (again) that if you keep on pushing it, you won't find it.

What is a single person supposed to do then?

Do not worry about alleviating my concern about clothing. I’m not worried about what I’m going to wear. It works best for me to visualize events before I enter into them— it helps to keeps me oriented & not caught off guard, which helps me to not freeze up in the moment, which makes everything more pleasant for all involved lol

So knowing what I’ll wear is one less unknown. I do not like surprises, I don’t do well with them, so no need to tell me to enjoy the suspense of life. I just adjust to situations in the best way I know how per event. 😊🙏🏼
