Should I tell my guy best friend that I have feelings for him?

So I met my best friend a little over a year and a half ago. We both work at the same place and hang out outside of work and go to the same college (we were basically roommates). I was originally “in love” with another guy whenever we started hanging out, and he helped show me that he was toxic for me. After that, I was able to get over that guy and focus on myself. Doing that, I realized that I actually had feelings for my best friend. I thought it was nothing at first, but throughout our friendship, those feelings have grown a lot stronger.
We both love Star Wars and Marvel. He makes sure I know that I am invited to different events that he is going to and tries to include me in everything. We go on late night drives (just the two of us) and listen to music or talk if either of us are upset or overwhelmed. People always know that he rides shotgun in my car because he designated himself as my co-pilot. I have had a few people ask me if we were dating because of how we act with each other.
The reason I haven’t told him yet is because he has a girlfriend. This hasn’t been a long-term girlfriend, but it’s been going well for them so far. He’s fallen for both of my best friends in the past and I’ve always been there to give him advice about any of the girls he was thinking about dating. Currently, his girlfriend and him are doing well (other than one night that they got in a fight and he ended up crying and talking to me about it).
I’ve had the overwhelming urge to tell him lately because my feelings are growing so strong and it hurts me a lot of the time. He’s also been teasing me a lot lately (jokingly) and is always cracking inside jokes with me which hasn’t helped. His girlfriend is so great and I love her. I’m just scared that I’m gonna go insane if I don’t tell him. I also don’t want to lose him as a friend because I don’t think I’ll be able to handle it. People keep telling me to let it run it’s course and I’ll get over it, but I haven’t.

What should I do?

I'd tell you not to be a selfish asshole, but what good would it do? You people have the knack to always make yourself out to be the victim, that somehow the rules apply to everyone else but not you. You people always think you're the main character in the story without any regard for anyone else's feelings.

You had plenty of opportunity to get with him before. But you had to friendzone him, or keep him at arm's length, or maybe compartmentalize, that might be a more sympathetic and perhaps accurate description.

Let's not forget they hypergamous aspect of this. You see somebody else has him, and you're jealous and you think YOU deserve what she has. Um, why exactly?

What exactly makes you the Cinderella here and not the evil step mom? Well I guess you set him up with some of your friends. That's nice I guess. I hope that you're not trying to steal him back from one of your friends. Why isn't the girlfriend your friend?

I dunno what to tell you kiddo. Don't be friends with men. Don't be jealous. I'm not rooting for you, I'm rooting for the girlfriend.

See that’s the thing, I’m not trying to “steal him back”. I would only be telling him if he was single. I love that he’s able to have a good relationship with this girl and I hope that they find happiness with each other. All I want is for him and my friends to be happy. Anytime I’ve given him advice on any girls, it’s been to do whatever makes him happy. The girlfriend is one of my friends, but she wasn’t one of the ones I was mentioning. He “dated” both of my best friends and they ended the relationships on their own terms. I can see you’re not “rooting” for me. I appreciate you giving me your perspective on the matter. Thanks :)

Nope too risky now, anyone who's telling you to "just be honest" or whatever, that's shitty advice, dude has a girlfriend whom you know whom he cried for after they had a fight and now looks like it's going well, doesn't sound like the best timing to me at all, wait it out

You haven’t really known him that long. If you had known him for ten years or more I might suggest caution. But in your case if you like him I would just tell him. Hoping for you he wants the same!

Wait for them to break up. If they're going strong even after 1-2 years, you should probably tell him to get it off your chest. Til then, it's wise to wait and watch.

You have one heck of a mess here. You should trust that if he does not feel the same way about you then he will still want to be your friend. It looks like he is very protective of you and that is what guys do when they care for somebody. He might feel the same way about you but is afraid to tell you because it might end the friendship. You are a young person and will have many years to think about what you are doing now and the choices ypou made or the choices you didn't make.
