Please read. I need some solid advice here.
My guy best friend has suddenly stopped responding to my texts. He and I have been friends for about 3 years and texting is something we do all the time. Because of our busy schedules, I am unable to hangout with him all the time so I barely see him. Texting is our number one connection... or I guess it was.
Anyways, about a week ago, we were texting one another. I have been going through some issues of my own and I shared some details with him. However, I never got a response to my text. I then texted him later that night wishing him a safe flight to one of his group tours to Europe. He never responded to that either. He has been instagramming, tweeting, and snapchatting his entire experience. In the past, he would have made sure to text me to tell me that he had landed safely. This time he did not.
He didn't text me during his time away, which is fine. But he got home earlier today and he still has not texted me.
I am not really sure what's going on. He has gotten close to his other friends and because I barely see him, I might simply bore him. Either way, I am not upset that he doesn't want to be my friend anymore. I am more upset with the fact that I am being ignored.
I am trying to save myself some self-respect and not text him again because I don't like being ignored. I don't want to come across desperate either. I think I just feel used because when he was going through his own issues and was friendless for the past year, he would always have my shoulder to cry on. And now, because he has found a connection with someone else, I seem to take a backseat.
Should I text him again? Should I just move on? Should I just accept the fact that he doesn't want anything to do with me and just deal with it? How do you deal with losing someone so close to you who you spoke to 24/7? It's just confusing and I need some guy perspective here.
