What does casual slacks or a sturdy closed toe shoe mean? What are some examples?

My interview says “Remember to wear casual slacks or jeans and a sturdy closed-toe shoe in order to tour our facility”

It means “don’t wear a suit, but sweatpants aren’t acceptable either” and “don’t come in flip flops”

How is that not self explanatory? Wear regular pants and no open toed shoes
