How do you make an excuse for not attending the class face to face and only online? I need some suggestions & excuses, please?

I am attending my final year at uni, classes are going back to face to face but are also available online.

Some classes I don't mind face to face but there's one I must do online because it's extremely hard to pass + need to memorise everything if it's on campus. Whereas online are open book. The worst part is this "hard to pass" subject's teacher forces us to attend face to face unless we live oversea or other reasons, I thought of these excuses:

• I can't come to campus because I live overseas (This is an embarrassing excuse if the teacher sees me on campus)*
• I can't come to class face to face because I have a work shift that ends right before class starts & it takes 1 hour to arrive, by the time I arrive, class' already over

*The reason I need to be on campus is that before the "hard to pass" lessons, there is a one on one lesson that is impossible to do online as it's an instrument lesson. If the "hard to pass" teacher sees me, I am dead.

Any thoguhts? Any excuses for me to make up? Feel free to share, thanks!

You're an adult and as an adult you shouldn't have to come up with excuses or lies. Just tell the professor that your talents might be better represented in an open book exam, that is online, rather than the other non-open book exam. Sure there's a chance he will say no, but that's life. If he respects you as a fellow adult, he will take your worries in consideration. He might even respect you for knowing and expressing your weaknesses.

If they don’t know what you look like then say you live in a different state (maybe because you went to live at home with parents, etc). If the teacher has never seen your face then you should be fine walking around campus. Just avoid that classroom.

How can it be face to face "AND" only online? The two are mutually exclusive of each other. A red delicious Apple is a time honored proven method of bribery when trying to smooth things over while kissing that teachers booty. You can find them in the produce department of your local grocery store. Good luck.

You should protest the unfairness with that some people get to have open book and others doesn't. And make it so it's open book face to face too. You should have the right to the same tools as your class mates.

Honestly there is no way any excuse might work. The teachers will know you lie because they can see your schedule and see you are already on campus for the other lessons. If you need to cheat the test by using the open book. You haven't prepared it well enough.

Take advantage of the covid scam and say that you are covid positive. You can get covid multiple times so you could drag this out for the whole semester. You have to stay out of sight, if the prof sees you you are cooked.

If you make an excuse, you're eventually going to get caught. Your schedule doesn't allow anything else. I guess you should've planned ahead on this one.

What is the "instrument" you are talking about? What is your major/degree? Are you in Cedar Rapids?

Some majors can be extremely difficult to complete if they require more than knowlege but also a developed "talent".
