Is it really that weird that I didn't go to middle school?

In my school board, Simcoe County District School board which is in Ontario, Canada, just north of Toronto and I thought it was a Canadian thing; then I learned Alberta had it from a friend. Now I am learning every Canadian province has it. I thought it was Ontario only then, as we are the weird province with bagged milk and all that, but then watching turning red and learned that there are middle schools in Toronto

So is it really weird that I never went to middle school? For me, Elementary School was Kindergarten - Grade 8
High School was Grade 9 - Grade 12 or 13 if you need it.

In the area where I lived in the US, it was just like you say. No middle school. But if you went to the next city over, there was middle school. So it just depends where you live and the school district.
