There are multiple reasons why a boss would fire an employee. The basic question here is why she got fired.
- Did she go against company policy (stealing, revealing company information, etc.)?
- Was she lazy and did not do her job correctly?
- Was she caught performing other activities than the ones assigned?
There are dozens of reasons why a boss would fire an employee. Also, there is a big difference between firing someone, laying her off and furlough.
If the boss fired her, then I think it is because she did something that she should not have done and if you do your job correctly, there is no reason for him/her to fire you too.
