Cutting the work week hours to 27 to 32 a week with adjusting our salaries to maintain our lifestyles with better benefits.
We can spend more time with family, friends, traveling, working on our hobbies etc without being burn out with constant dull labor we don't like anyways just to get sick and die in the end if you are lucky to make it to a old age anyways.
Cashiers and some other jobs are working 8 hours day but hire more people and make them work 5 hours with increased pay to make a living will do us great because society will be happier and stress free.
Simply put, no. Shit still needs to get done for society to function, and many (many, not all) businesses can’t afford to pay more to get less. Personally I’m bored working 40 hour weeks, the 80+ I used to do is excessive but 40 ain’t much.
That being said I definitely support 4x10s over 5x8s, and way more flexibility with vacations. 2 or 3 weeks a year that has to be booked months in advance just doesn’t cut it for me.
It's B. S. ideology they been feeding you, peers and ancestors for several years while the elites keep ranking in billions off your back and sweat.
Iceland does it people feel a better quality life for it but in the West these poor sheep have been deeply brainwashed to work their bones off for some other sucka to fatten his pockets at the expense of their family time, hobbies, friends and even health.
Well that article looked at cutting a few hours a week, a 27 hour week is a much more drastic cut.
And again, what are you doing with all that free time? Pretty much all my hobbies and leisure activities cost money, keeping myself entertained is just gonna end up costing more money.
And you do realize that we get paid for putting in more hours too, right?
Life isn't about work, dude. No one when dying in their last few moments isn't going to be wishing they spent more hours working for some damn company or loser to get rich off them.
Life is about having fun with family and friends etc not to be spend working all these crazy hours just to die in the end.
You’re absolutely right, and I’ve quit jobs that left no life outside work. And I’m saying 40 hours a week ain’t bad
Bro, if you are married and only working 27 hours a week, your wife will want you to get a second job so you can buy her more shiny stuff. Seriously, no wife will tolerate her man only working 27 hours a week.
