Are you interested in making penpals? How do you make penpals?

Hi,

I think this is the problem that we language learners suffer from. Even though we are looking forward to making friends and talking as much as possible, it's not that easy. I've been on different penpal sites for years but I couldn't make any friends yet. It looks like these sites are now full of people who have quite different goals than making friends and talking to meet new people and improving their language skills. It makes it much harder for us to meet people. I began to think that the penpal thing doesn't work anymore, at least for me 🤷🏻‍♂️
What are your thoughts about this issue? Are you able to meet new people and make friends? What's the proper and painless way to find and meet new enthusiastic people?

I think you just need to find the right people you click with and then you won’t have to try too hard to keep the friendship going since there’ll be mutual interest and therefore, mutual effort. I have never expected to make friends on here, but I have and they’re the most amazing people ever! so just test the waters, see who you click with and go from there.

You're definitely right. But I'm fairly new here, I've been away for a long time. It could take some time to interact with people. Because I don't want to be a disturbing, annoying person. So I have hesitation in getting in touch with people. Maybe I need some time, I don't know honestly...

don’t hesitate or doubt yourself… try engaging with people you find interesting and see how it goes, what is there to lose? and you might gain some great friends😊

You're so kind, thank you so much for encouraging me :) I might have lost my confidence a bit maybe because of I failed almost everytime. You know, most don't have a great attitude like you. People start to question themselves after a while :D

So far the one that has worked for me is the app slowly.

It does take some time, you've to find someone to click to but it gives the penpal vibe & it has the AUDACITY to tell you how long it will be until you receive a letter. It can be some long hours to wait when you're engaged in a good one.

This is so valuable! I've found the app in Google Play, it looks like the app is loved. I can't wait for giving it a try. I hope my bad luck ends with this app : )
