What do you think is a better option to study?

I'm going to go to university but I still don't know what I want, because I'm afraid of making the wrong choice and that my professional career won't give me so much money or that I'll be left without opportunities.

law, systems engineering or programming.

If I choose law, I will have my father, who is a lawyer, to help me, but he noticed that the legal profession does not have a very good job demand and depends a lot on the client.

systems engineering is more expensive so I don't want to take things lightly either.

I've talked to my father asking him to decide for me, but he doesn't want to.

Law is a fairly competitive field, so that's something you need to consider. But I heard there's also a few subbranches of law that have a bit more demand than some others. I would do your research on them

Systems engineering I would say is your better bet out of the three if you can overlook how expensive it is. I know people from college that graduated and already have jobs lined up

Programming is probably the worst pick. Feels like everyone nowadays is going into computer science or stuff related to it and the one's I've seen end up being freelance and developing their own games, which isn't the best if you're looking for something stable. I feel like there's more stable options but at the same time it's so competitive

I would say go into law if you can because your father is a lawyer and that gives you the legacy advantage. The field of law is wide and varied, family law, divorce law, corporate law, contract law etc etc. If you can specialize into a specific type of law you can build a base of clients who will be with you for a long time and guarantee you a modicrum of success.

That being said, if you do something like tag along with your father for a week to see how his job goes for him and decide that this isn't the type of job you would want to spend your life doing, it might be better to go with systems engineering. But again I would say try and do an internship or work with someone who does that for a little while to get a feel for that career and the people around you in that career

Start with general computer science, especially if you are interested in computing. If you have a serious hobby, like photography, consider doing that. It is easier to study something you are really into.

Go for a bachelors first, then try and specialise for a masters. If you can, go for the biggie, a doctorate.

Wharever, never stop learning new things.

I would hope you have a reason and purpose for going to college. Once you have a purpose, the type of degree you choose will follow.

You have to choose something that you are interested in. If you pick something that you enjoy, then it will be the best decision for you. Good luck.
