What do you think about this idea for school exams?

Should school exams, instead of making you learn all of things by heart, and later try to recall it during the exam, looked like this, that the teacher is giving you a phone/computer and you have to find something on internet, that is very hard to find on internet?

right now I could find all kinds of papers and studies, and books that are not easy to find at all, or they remain behind a pay wall, or levels of certification... but I could still do the effort and find copies of them online

and when I finally get them, would that make me an astrophysicist? absolutely not, lmfao...

school should be more about teaching kids to how to understand things, how to learn things, and how to critically think and analyze things... not just how to find shit on google, lol

The current education system is largely based on Prussian Education system of late 18th and early 19th century, that's why Half of what students learn in school is useful only during examinations.

I dont know since, for the things that are not practical, I dont really know why the kids would have to learn it in the first place since it wouldn't matter unless it interested them. For core subjects like math or language, than the test still wouldn't be testing whether they know it or not. Just how quickly they can find the answers.

There's still some information that needs to be learned by heart, but exams also incorporate essays and I had students work on projects in some cases instead of giving tests.

I do not say it should be used for all subjects. For for those, that are not practical.

Well, for example math is not something you can just learn by heart. I'm only talking about the one you can learn by heart, as in others it would not work
