How demanding is a Bachelor's program?

I'm only in community college now but am looking at schools for a Bachelor's. I might be able to transfer credits and get a Bachelors in 2-3 years. What should I expect coming from a CC? Also, is it a foolish idea to double-major or can it be done with lots of ambition and focus?

I feel hopelessly lost and there are 1 million questions about an ultimatum.

First don't double major second get your gen Ed's out of the way in community College and have those transfered over third to get a bachelor's whether it be in arts or science or nursing or or teaching or whatever bullshit field you need a 120 credits. The thing about a bachelor's is since most people have one it's the equivalent of a high school diploma now pretty useless. Master's degree or post graduate degree don't bother with not worth it. The only part of college I found hard was the biology. Everything else just dragged on for no reason and they rushed the students to finish a 400+ page text book per class per semester and do 3 exams flunk one and you fail the course. College was just complete bullshit. If I had to do over again I wouldn't even had bothered it's not worth the time or energy for that crap and useless rubbish

i would say it's not all that demanding. you just need discipline, self organization and motivation.

that motivation can come from a purpose. why do you have to learn what you're going to learn? what are you gonna do with it and who's gonna pay you for it? if you have answers to these questions, you're on a good way.

Getting a passing grade is easy but getting straight A’s is difficult so I depends how ambitious you are

Not every degree pays for itself nor does a degree lead to the "right" destination.

So save yourself the hassle and research the above questions inlight of your career goals.

It depends on your pick and what you find easy, is math a problem don't do any engineering. It's requires some dedication it's not just showing up for class and pay attention. It usually requires you to study on your own as well.

It really depends on the degree. A liberal arts degree in English isn't comparable to a Bachelor's in aerospace engineering. What are you looking to major in, or where are your interests? Knowing that will help a lot more.

It depends completely on what major. If it's gender studies or social studies of some kind, it's going to be much easier than if it's a science or business major.

I don't get the shade
But I want something that matches my self-perceived skillset. I've always been interested in literature and English. It is on my bucket list to publish creative writing.
On the other hand, my more "practical" choice would be something involving social work, counseling, or clinical psychology.

The shade is because it's bothersome that there are still so many people (mostly women) who believe the gender pay gap is due to gender discrimination / institutional sexism. The fact is it is due to women's own choices, and this exchange here is a good example. Literature/English, social work, counseling and clinical psychology are all relatively low paying professions, but they are emotionally rewarding. Women tend you choose easier "feel good" professions much more than men do.

Why? Because they can. Males know instinctively from the time they are young boys that their value as men will be judged largely on their ability to earn. Not so with women. Women face other pressures but this is one they do not face to nearly the degree men do.

If there is sexism in any of this, it is in the fact that women do not face that pressure like men do and are "allowed" to choose easy majors without the consequence that they will be perceived as lower value women.

There is nothing wrong with that as long as you are honest with yourself (and others) about what to expect when you get your paychecks. And more importantly, women as a whole should be more honest about what actually causes the gender pay gap and stop blaming men and sexism when they are not the problem.

That’s not going to make you any money. English and teaching can still get you a job overseas.-That’s changing with emergence of Mandarin…. Double majoring in those will never get Return. Accounting, Computers /Practical C languages, Engineering etc….

I really don't know, but I have always loved reading + writing. I also have thought in the past about becoming some sort of social worker, psychologist, or counselor. I don't think I could work with kids day in and day out, but it would be really cool to be a college professor.

Social work:Master degree entry level
English/Writing is a good release especially social work. Pretty much State jobs…
