I want to start my own business but I’m not sure how to go about it or where to start can anyone that owns a business give me an idea on how?

I’m really crafty with my hands I’m great at making nothing in to something great I can draw , paint , do interior decorating, sew etc…i have a big imagination I can use a cricut machine to do a lot of different crafts also. I want to start a business maybe designing parties for adults , kids , business baby showers , whatever u just wanna celebrate for like doing the decorations making the party favors setting up a Photo Booth and making the props too. I have no idea where to start or if there is even money making possibilities in it just need an idea of where to start

Why don’t you try your own little craft shop. I’ve been in one today and they sell everything from card making, cake decorating, painting, sewing and knitting. It would be perfect for you as you said in your post you’re very crafty. So why not open a store with something you love doing and sharing your tips with potential customers. This is the store I visited today, I spent ages looking around and really enjoyed it. And good luck with your future venture.

There is an organization, or there was called SCORE.

It was/is made up of retired executives that volunteer their time to people just like you.

Sometimes there may be county or state programs.

Look on like.

Possibly take a couple of business courses.

Figure out what you're good at and what people need. Then start marketing your services. Figure out all expenses and overheads. Calculate a profit that will make it worth it for you.

It is great that you are good at those things, but the first question to ask yourself:

"Is there a market large enough for this to support me?" If you cannot answer. "Yes." then it might be an okay side gig, but not your main business.

If you answer "Yes" then research other similar businesses in the area to see how they operate.

Then ask yourself if you have the drive and energy to do this. When I started my legal service, I knew it could be lucrative but I did not know the start up would require 80 hour weeks for more than a year.

I would suggest maybe starting as a wedding planner, then moving on the other parties that you mentioned. Get your name out there on social media. Get a business bank account, business name, get incorporated, get an accountant. When you get busy enough, quit your old job. Feel free to message me. I have my own business.

Try searching for business grants. Apply for as many as you think you and your business would qualify for. Check local business laws to see if you need a license for your type of business. Once you have a plan, advertise. Search the web for sites that you can advertise on for free.

You have to start with a business plan. Plan out exactly how you’re going to create and profit from your product. Lay out the steps, then do them, then build a corporation and brand for the product.
