What career should I pursue with a history degree?

I love the show mystery hunters. I would love to have a career where you visit different sites and speak on the various cultures. I wouldn't want to be a paranormal investigator or a tour guide. I would want a career where you're a commentator of some sort. Something like being on the travel network or the discovery network and doing this sort of work.

I mean, that is something you work towards. Right now, you all you have a history degree. Right now, you are just chasing a pipe dream. It would be best if you had realistic goals that set you on the path to getting there. It would help if you were more practical.

Like what if I told you I am going for a degree in film degree? Sure I can pay the bills if I win the next oscar, but how likely is that? I need to do something more practical with my degree, like work in a news station.

You need to work as the tour guy and then work towards that goal you have on the side.

I dont have a history degree. I was thinking to get a finance degree instead. My interest lies around that area though.

Then get a finance degree. It's college. It's worth burning a hole in your pocket for a history degree. That is something you get as a minor. Or you take a course online. The whole point of college is to get specialized skills to work. Student debt is never worth it. You need the hard math and technology skills from college. History is nice, but it does not pay the bills.
