What month does your school or university start? And how long it your holidays?

In south africa we start school in January till November and university in February till November. We have 3 breaks in between those months. One is 2 weeks in end of March. The other is a month in middle June to middle July. And the last one is 2 weeks in October.

The school year here goes from August or September to July. But there are three breaks for autumn 1/2 weeks, Christmas 3 weeks and Easter two weeks. There are also some national holidays and a longer break in the summer of 6 weeks.
University goes in semesters. The Winter Semester starts in mid Oktober and goes to the end of March with classes going until the mid February. The Sommer Semester starts in April and goes until end of September with classes going to mid July. That way the breaks are the end of classes until the start of the new term.
Those breaks are not for holiday only they are usually also the time for the exams of each term and in many subjects you´ll have to write longer essays usually not just one of them so some people have more holiday than others.

I'm in SA now but grew up in the UK. School there starts September with usually two weeks out for Christmas, two to three around Easter and then off July and August after GCSE & A-level exams end.

Most countries have the long break in their summer holiday between academic years. Probably to prevent teachers quitting en masse

School start in start September/end of August, and then we have around 10 days break around Christmas and new years, and a weeks break at Easter. Then we have finals in June and July and August are breaks.

North America, August to May. Labor Day off (or the Monday after Labor Day), Week for Thanksgiving, Two weeks for Christmas and New Years, A week or two for Easter, and I think that’s about it.

My son's university starts in late August and then has two semesters, the second of which ends in May. My younger kids's schools start in late August and go until June. There are breaks of throughout the year.

We started this late August. We had many suspended classes for the past few months, so I think they won't offer a nice semester break to make up for the missed classes..

We start the week after Labor Day and the semester ends the second week of December. There is a week that is supposed to be for final exams but everyone gives the final on the last day of class.

School for me usually starts in late July/early August, that's how it is over here in Arizona. And ends in May. My school runs on a semester system and we have 3 breaks.
