Scenario, let's say you get job as say as accounting and for 1 month the managers ask the accounts payable to train to be familiar with the system. The accounts payable staff goes on leave for 2 months due to surgery and you had to do accounts payable then the staff resigns and they have to hire someone new to do accounts payable. It's taken months and you still haven't done the duties mentioned on the job description yet

Make sure you are trained in them If not, request a close door meeting with job description and moving forward with training in these areas. You or Whomever will still have to do the New Hire grunt work SO no complaining as long as they are investing in broadening your skill set !!

It really depends on how much you hate AP and all the other attributes of the job such as salary and benefits.

No action. The company pays an employee to do what they need, not what the employee wants to do. If an employee is not happy, he is free to resign and look for another job.
